Making life simpler

After suffering a serious brain injury from a motorcycle accident, I found it more of a struggle to recite names and numbers, and so would get easily flustered when asked to provide these types of details over the phone. Getting my wallet out and having to read my card details aloud on a crowded bus, in a café, or in the office felt outdated, slow and unsafe. I knew there had to be a better way, and so Tiro was born.

Long ago in the time of the Holy Roman Empire, Marcus Tullius Tiro, or simply 'Tiro', was the trusted secretary and confidant of Marcus Tullius 'Cicero', a renowned statesman, lawyer, scholar and philosopher. Widely regarded as the inventor of shorthand annotation, Tiro was tasked by Cicero with the responsibility of transcribing his most influential speeches before guarding them for posterity. These speeches played an integral role in lifting Cicero from the ranks of the common man to the dizzying heights of wealth, power, and politics. To look at it another way, Tiro was entrusted by Cicero to be the scribe and safekeeper of his most prized and sensitive information.
